Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of mypensionportal.org (the "Site") and the free educational review offered through it. The Site is operated by Chase Westbrook, doing business as Meridian Light ("Meridian Light," "we," "us"). By using the Site or booking a review, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Educational purpose only

Everything on the Site, in our emails, and during an educational review is general education about retirement and pension topics. It is not investment, tax, legal, accounting, insurance, or financial advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or do anything. We do not provide benefit estimates, income projections, or promises about any outcome. You should rely on your plan administrator and qualified professionals of your choosing for decisions.

No advice or fiduciary relationship

Using the Site or attending a review does not create an attorney-client, advisor-client, fiduciary, agency, or other professional relationship between you and us. We do not manage your money, act on your behalf, or have authority over any plan or account.

No affiliation

My Pension Portal is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting for any employer, school, university, district, government agency, or state or federal pension system or plan. We do not speak for any of them, and no one at the Site should be taken as doing so. Any reference to a type of employer or plan is generic and for education only.

No guarantees

We make no promise or guarantee about any benefit, income, savings, eligibility, or result. Retirement plan rules and laws change and vary by plan, and what applies to you may differ from what we discuss.

Accuracy of information

We work to keep content accurate, but it may be incomplete, out of date, or contain errors. We do not guarantee its accuracy. Always confirm details, eligibility, deadlines, and figures with your plan administrator and, where appropriate, a qualified professional before acting.

Educational reviews

Reviews are free, optional, and held by video call (currently 60 minutes by Zoom). You may cancel, reschedule, or end a review at any time. We may reschedule or cancel a review if needed. Do not share account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive information during a review.

Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate information when you book or contact us, and only use contact details that belong to you or that you are allowed to use.
  • Keep your own records and make your own decisions.
  • Follow these Terms and applicable law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • submit false, misleading, or another person's information, or impersonate anyone;
  • use the Site to send spam, malware, or unlawful, harassing, or abusive content;
  • probe, scan, overload, or interfere with the Site or its security, or use bots or scrapers to collect data from it;
  • attempt to access data or systems you are not authorized to access;
  • use the Site or our content to suggest that we or our content are connected with any employer, school, university, agency, or plan, or to misrepresent our relationship with you;
  • copy or resell the Site's content except as these Terms allow.

We may block access or end a review if we think you are violating these Terms.

Email consent and opt-out

If you agree to be contacted by email, we will email you as described in our Privacy Policy. You can opt out at any time using the link in any email, our unsubscribe page, or unsubscribe@mypensionportal.org. We honor opt-outs within 10 business days.

Third-party services and links

The Site uses third-party services, such as our scheduling and CRM provider (Meridian, built on HighLevel), Cloudflare for hosting, and Zoom for video calls. The Site may also link to other websites. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Intellectual property

The Site's text, design, graphics, logo, and other content are owned by us or used with permission and are protected by law. You may view and share links to the Site and print a copy for personal, non-commercial use. All other rights are reserved. The Meridian Light and My Pension Portal names and logos may not be used without our written permission.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meridian Light and Chase Westbrook are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, benefits, savings, or data, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, its content, or any review, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site or a review will not exceed $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so some of these may not apply to you.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold harmless Meridian Light and Chase Westbrook from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Lubbock County, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue. Nothing here limits any consumer rights you have under the law of your state that cannot be waived.

Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site.

Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
